Learning foreign languages has become a trend nowadays as they have opened the gateways of professional career option. One can become translator, teacher, guide etc. after becoming proficient and skilled in foreign language. French, German and Chinese are the three most common languages that are attracting Indian adults to learn and flourish their career in Embassy. Many people are opting Chinese language due to its increasing demand and multiple career options. One who wants to settle in China for business purpose can also learn Chinese. People usually think that learning Chinese language is a tedious task, but the truth is it is a simple language for those who have zeal to learn new language. If one wants to learn Chinese language, then he has to keep vocabulary and grammatical structures in mind.

“Hanzi” or Chinese language Characters

There are approximately 80,000 hanzi that are nerve-wracking for the beginner but, as soon as one starts learning them they will seem easy and simple. While learning Chinese language, one has to understand and learn only 3500 characters as they are enough to read, understand and speak the Chinese language.

Tonal Language

Modern Chinese language is included in tonal language which means that the pronunciation is different from the word’s tone and meaning. There are four tones with different rising levels that are pronounced on the basis of character and tone level. An English speaker might get confused while learning the Chinese tonal level as it has high rising intonations. The Chinese tones are learned with the characters and words. Learning Chinese is simple for a person who loves music as the vast characters can be learned with the help of musical notes.

What makes Chinese language Simple?

There are some features that make Chinese a simple language.

1. Chinese language has a limited number of sounds, nearly 1200 syllables which is much lower than English language that has approximately 8,000 syllables. You can easily learn ChineseĀ with such syllables.

2. The best part about learning Chinese language is that, it has simple grammar. An English speaker can easily learn the Chinese grammar as the sentence construction is quite similar with the English sentence construction.

3. Chinese language has no verbal conjugations, modulations, and declinations. It also eliminates the use of plural, gendered parts, verb tables, agreements and irregular verbs.

So, overall it can be said that Chinese is simple to learn and one can be skilled in it if learn with zeal and passion.
